Tonya Michelle Kersey-Peniston, 54, of Covington, KY, passed away on Thursday, December 30, 2021, with her loving family by her side. Born in Cincinnati, OH, Tonya was the daughter of the late Pauline Sullivan. She attended South Dearborn High School and enjoyed collecting Clown figurines and collecting and painting rocks. She was a huge fan of Fleetwood Mac and Stevie Knicks. Tonya loved spending time with her family, especially spoiling her grandchildren. She will be remembered as a kind woman who would do anything to help other people. In addition to her mother, Tonya is preceded in death by her sister: Robin Kersey. Tonya is survived by her boyfriend: Michael Johnson; sons: Donnie Peniston and Kyle Peniston; daughter: Tiffany Kersey; brothers: Larry (Becky) Jutzi, Gregory Chapa and Michael Kennedy; sisters: Jamie (Robert) Sullivan, Hanna (Aaron) Lingar and Heather Helton; uncle: Tommy (Leeann) Sullivan and her ex-husband: Donald Peniston. A Visitation will be held on Tuesday, January 11, 2022 from 10:00 A.M. until the Memorial Service at 12:00 P.M. (Noon) at Serenity Funeral Care, 40 West 6th Street, Covington, KY 41011.
