Obituary for Terry Mae Craig
Terry Mae Craig (nee: Cruse), 75, of Independence, KY, passed away peacefully at home surrounded by her children on May 10, 2023.
In life, Terry sacrificed and worked tirelessly to raise her four daughters primarily as a single mother. She was generous, selfless and empathetic. Oftentimes she opened her home to friends and family in need. Her spirit of giving carried over into her work life as well. She was an advocate for women, seniors and the disadvantaged. She ultimately retired as a Case Manager at the Northern Kentucky Community Action Center in Covington, Kentucky.
She enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren and her dog son, GenGen. She was an avid follower of politics and a proud member of the Democratic Party of Kentucky. She had many friends and admirers due to her kindness, compassion, sense of humor and gift of gab. She will be deeply missed by those who loved her.
Terry was preceded in death by her parents Patrick and Irla Cruse and sisters Dianna and Beverly. She is survived by her daughters Lynn (Al) Lovell, Robin (Rick) Harkins, Kelli Craig and Kerri (Nick) Brumm, nine grandchildren, ten great-grandchildren and her beloved dog GenGen.
There will be a funeral mass in her honor at Holy Spirit Roman Catholic Church in Newport, KY on Wednesday June 7th at 4:00pm. In lieu of flowers, her family suggests that memorials be directed to: Brighton Center, Inc., PO Box 325, Newport, KY 41072.
