Rick Edward Horn, 64, of Erlanger, Kentucky, passed away Saturday, May 13, 2023, at St. Elizabeth South Hospital. Rick was the Broker/Owner of Northern Kentucky Realty. Rick was a proud graduate of the University of Kentucky with a Bachelor of Science degree in Forestry. He was an avid bird hunter, deer hunter, and archer, and he often shared short, descriptive stories of his wildlife and nature encounters with his family and friends. Rick was civic-minded and served his community in many different ways throughout his life, including, as a Board member for Erlanger-Elsmere Board of Education for 12 years, a former Assistant Scoutmaster for Troop 757/775 in Elsmere, a volunteer instructor for Hunters’ Safety with the Kentucky Fish and Wildlife Commission, and a member of the Northern Kentucky Urban and Community Forestry Council and Boone County Bowhunters of Kentucky. Rick worked as a Project Manager in the civil engineering field for many years and was a licensed surveyor in Kentucky and Ohio, a certified forester, and a certified arborist. Rick is predeceased by his father, Al Horn of Erlanger, KY. Rick is survived by his sons, McKinley C. Horn, and Michael Justin Horn, Erlanger, KY; his mother, Verilea Horn, Erlanger, KY; brothers: Rod (Delores) Horn, St. Cloud, FL; Mark (Linda) Horn, Erlanger, KY; Mike (Joanne) Horn, Florence, KY; sisters: Kim (Mark) Saunders, Monroe, GA; Kellee Horn (Rick Westerkamp-dec.), Sparta, KY; Kristi (Todd) Ward, Ft. Mitchell, KY; and Kara Horn, Woodland Hills, CA.
