Obituary for Richard Allen Walker I

Richard Allen Walker I, 76, of Erlanger, KY, passed away Thursday, February 10, 2022, surrounded by his loving family. Born in Covington, KY, on May 20, 1945, he was the son of the late Clarence and Mildred Walker. Richard attended Holmes High School and went on to proudly serve his country in the U.S. Army. Afterwards, he worked as a machinist for Cincinnati Milacron for over 30 years and went on to work for TSA for 5 years before retiring. Richard was a longtime member of Northern KY Baptist Church where he served as a Trustee, Sunday School Teacher, coffee maker and a guy that always had candy. He enjoyed watching sports, fishing and clipping coupons. Richard was an avid reader. He will always be remembered for his positive attitude and his favorite quote, “Better than I deserve.” In addition to his parents, Richard was preceded in death by his brothers: Edward Walker and Vernon Walker and sisters: Wavelyn Ryals and Vivian Walker. Richard is survived by his beloved wife of 34 years: Malinda Walker; sons: Richard Walker II, Bryon (Julie) Blackburn and Ben (Rashelle) Walker; daughters: Paula (Patrick Keller) Walker and Ericalyn (Willie) Padilla; brothers: Charles (Cindy) Walker and John (Marcia) Walker; sisters: Shirley (Mike) Hall, Linda (Allen) Oliver and Glenda (Danny) Harlow; sisters-in-law: Mary Walker and Joan Walker; 16 grandchildren and many nieces, nephews and dear friends. A Visitation will be held on Thursday, February 17, 2022, from 10:00 A.M. until the Funeral Service at 12:00 P.M. (Noon) at Northern Kentucky Baptist Church, 2681 Turkeyfoot Road, Lakeside Park, KY 41017. Interment: Kentucky Veterans Cemetery North. Service will be officiated by Pastor Tim Shelling.
