Mary Virginia Bickers, 89, of Ft. Thomas, KY, passed away on Saturday, October 1, 2022, with her devoted daughters and family by her side. Born in Ft. Thomas on January 16, 1933, she was the daughter of the late John and Virginia Byers. Mary was a 1951 graduate of Highlands High School and went on to work as a Lab Technician for Merrell Dow Pharmaceuticals for over 20 years. She took early retirement to open Mary’s Belle View Inn, a bed and breakfast she owned and operated for over 15 years. Mary was a longtime member of Asbury UMC where she worked with the Crafty Ladies Group, making items for mission work. She was also a past member of the Bellevue Business Association. Mary enjoyed gardening, knitting and cheering for her favorite sports teams: the Cincinnati Reds, Bengals and the UK Wildcats. She loved to spend time with her family, especially her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. In addition to her parents, Mary was preceded in death by her grandson: Thomas Ratliff. Mary is survived by her daughters: Ann (Bob) Sweeney and Linda Mathy; sisters: Betty Homan, Jackie Patrick and Fran (Michael) Barberi; 8 grandchildren and 8 great-grandchildren. A Visitation will be held on Saturday, October 15, 2022, from 10:00 A.M. until the Memorial Service at 12:00 P.M. at Asbury UMC, 2916 Alexandria Pike, Highland Heights, KY 41076. Services will be officiated by Pastor Cambron Wright. A Reception at the church will follow the service.
