Mark “Gus” Stephen Haywood, Sr., also known as The Mayor of Banklick, 65, of Covington, KY, passed away on Saturday, March 25, 2023. Born in Covington, KY, on April 3, 1957, he was the son of the late Henry and Betty Haywood. Gus enjoyed singing, was an accomplished artist and loved spending time with his grandchildren. He was a social butterfly with lots of friends and a great sense of humor. Gus was preceded in death by his father: Henry Haywood; his stepfather and mother: Jack and Betty West and brothers: Quincy Haywood, Henry Haywood and Gary Haywood. Gus is survived by his son: Mark Haywood, Jr.; daughter: Mandy (Carlando Myers) Haywood; brother: Michael (Linda) Haywood; sisters: Charlotte Haywood and Lovevenia (Buster) Smith; grandchildren: Savannah Sizemore and Mallory Sizemore; great-grandson: Daveontae Godard and lots of nieces and nephews.
