Jimmy Lee Martin, 87, of Newport, KY, passed away peacefully at his home, surrounded by his loving family on Sunday, January 23, 2022. Born in Newport on November 9, 1934, he was the son of the late Foley and Ella Martin. Jimmy enjoyed hunting and fishing. He loved to spend time with his family, especially his grandchildren. In addition to his parents, Jimmy was preceded in death by his brothers: Glenn Martin and Ray Martin; sisters: Helen Jordan, Virginia Schmidt and Janet Ballard; grandsons: Travis Martin and Trevor Martin and great-great-grandson: Louie Lightfoot. Jimmy is survived by his beloved wife of 69 years: Marlene Martin; sons: Jimmy Martin, Jr. and Glenn (Robin) Martin; daughters: Denise (Paul Kunkel) Martin and Donna (Jack) Neace; 7 grandchildren; numerous great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren. A Visitation will be held on Thursday, January 27, 2022, from 11:00 A.M. until the Funeral Service at 12:00 P.M. (Noon) at Cross and Crown Community Church, 510 Park Avenue, Newport, KY 41071.
