Obituary for Frank Xavier Droege Jr.

With heavy hearts we announce the death of our father, Frank Xavier Droege, who entered heaven on April 1, 2022, joining our mother, Florence, the love of his life for over 70 years. He loved his three daughters, 8 grandchildren, 11 great-grandchildren, 3 great-great-grandchildren and fishing, some days not in that order. He proudly served his country as a Master Sergeant in WWII and loved sharing Army stories with his friends and family. He started his career as editor and publisher of his own magazine, Trucker’s Dispatch. He then moved on to Broadcasting, working for all the major radio and television stations in the Cincinnati area, spanning over 30 years. While at WSAI he was instrumental in bringing the Beatles to the Cincinnati Gardens in 1964, at which he and his daughters enjoyed front row seats at the event. He ended his career as a successful realtor. His passions were fishing, boating, hunting and camping with his family. He loved his dogs, his Drambue and his port wine. Throughout his 97 years he touched many lives with his generous kind heart and was a gentleman to the end. He will be remembered as a wonderful friend, loving husband and the best father in the whole wide world. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held Wednesday, April 13, 2022, at 10:00 A.M. at St. Paul Catholic Church, 7301 Dixie Highway, Florence, KY 41042. In lieu of flowers, Memorials are suggested in Frank’s name to the Kentucky VA at KY.org or to St. Elizabeth Hospice at St. Elizabeth Foundation C/O Hospice, 1 Medical Village Drive, Edgewood, KY 41017.
