Obituary for Bernita Faye Wilson

Bernita Faye Wilson completed her life's journey on March 11, 2022, at the age of 80. She passed peacefully in hospice care with her daughter by her side. She was preceded in death by her father and mother, Samuel R. and Bernice D. Wilson. Left to celebrate her life is her adored daughter, Phoenix M. Wilson (Ken Taylor) and her beloved sisters and brothers-in-law, Charlotte and Verlin McIntosh and Jayne and Lowell McIntosh, her dearly loved nieces, Elizabeth McIntosh (Carol Siderits) and Deborah McIntosh Beck (Darwin), her precious grandnephews, Benjamin and Stephen Beck, and grandnieces, Elin McIntosh and Joanna Beck and many deeply loved cousins and friends. Bernita lived a very full life. She had varied interests and talents spanning from pursuing singing opera in her younger years, opening and operating her own restaurant called Mother’s, pursuing her passion in holistic health practices, and deepening her spiritual growth. Anything she ever did she gave it her all. Bernita was a devoted mother to her cherished daughter, Phoenix, and deeply loved her family and friends. She was committed to helping others through the healing arts and had her own business for many years using various holistic healing methods in which she had been trained to alleviate their discomfort and pain. She was a strong, determined and independent woman. She was generous to so many with her care, time, resources, and love. She always aimed to lift others up. You could feel her love and spark for life when she would walk in the room. Even in her final days, during great physical struggle and pain, she always spoke with favor and appreciation to anyone she saw. She left this world a far better place and she will be greatly missed by all who knew her. A memorial and celebration of Bernita's life will be held on Friday, March 18, 2022, at the New Heart Church of God, 3804 Old Madison Pike, Ft. Wright, KY 41017. Visitation begins at 5:30, the service will begin at 6:30. If you are unable to attend, please take a moment to join us in remembering and celebrating her life in your heart at that time.
