Berenice Roll, 91, of Newport, KY, passed away on Wednesday, November 9, 2022. Born on October 3l, 1931 in Cumberland, KY, she was the daughter of the late Clement and Anna Elizabeth (nee Moccia) Saulino. She was a homemaker and member of Holy Spirit Church, Newport, KY. After raising nine children she went to work as a sales clerk for JC Penny for 30 years. She enjoyed her family gatherings on Sundays which always included a few card games, as well as going to a casino any chance she could. She was a talented seamstress, piano player and famous for her Italian spaghetti and meatballs. There was never a more loving, caring and thoughtful person, loyal friend, caring neighbor, and a second mom to many. In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her loving husband of 69 years, Robert L. Roll; daughter, Stephanie Neltner; brother, Thomas Saulino and sister, Mickey Gilbert. Berenice was survived by her daughters, Toni (Ralph) Wischer, Michele “Micki” (Tom) Doyle and Gina (Charlie) Schroder; sons, Rusty Roll, Joe Roll, Johnny (Sue) Roll, Marty Roll and Andy (Julie) Roll; sister, Joanne Niehaus; brother, Joseph (Rita) Saulino; sister-in-law, Jeannie Saulino; 13 grandchildren; 18 great-grandchildren; 1 great-great-grandchild and numerus other family members and friends. Berenice’s family will greet friends from 5:00 P.M. until 6:00 P.M. on Wednesday, November 16, 2022, at Holy Spirit Catholic Parish, 825 Washington Ave. Newport, KY. With a Memorial Mass at 6:00 P.M.

Following Berenice’s service, a reception will be held across the street in the Holy Spirit Catholic Parish’s Gymnasium. In lieu of flowers, Memorial Donations are suggested in Berenice’s name to Holy Spirit Catholic Parish, 825 Washington Ave., Newport, KY 41071 a charity of the Donor’s choice.
